I enjoy trying out new apps for my iPod touch. And I expected that when my husband was handed a BlackBerry at work, he'd want to fill it up with apps that could help him keep track of work-related tasks, deadlines, and travel. He's a computer programmer, after all; I thought he'd jump right into the world of apps. But I was wrong.
When I took a phone message at home that an appointment he had after work was canceled, I figured that the easiest way to reach him was by texting his new BlackBerry. Wrong again! After an hour went by with no response from him, I decided that he must not have learned how to use the text-message feature. This time, I was right. I left a voice mail on his office landline instead, and told our daughter that when her dad got home, she was in charge of showing him how to receive and send text messages.
