Every morning, I down a multivitamin, a calcium supplement, and a flaxseed-oil capsule. Every night, I take an iron supplement along with my asthma medicine.
But now that my husband's doctor recommended that he add fish-oil supplements to his diet, my husband is ranting and raving. How is he supposed to remember to take a pill 3 times a day?
I'm trying to convince him that these supplements will be a better choice than neglecting his health and winding up on prescription medication for high blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol problems. The doctor gave him four months to let the vitamins do the job or he's going to have to start writing scripts.
My kids have no problem taking their vitamins every day. Of course, those vitamins come in "gummy bear" form. My youngest puts his two gummy vitamins on top of his ice cream every night after dinner. That kid never forgets his vitamins!
If only they'd make fish oil supplements in gummy form.
