My husband thought that getting an above-ground swimming pool was almost as easy as going to the store, ordering and paying for it.
Not quite.
We're still discovering all the additional jobs that have come with the pool. These have included:
- opening one part of the fence so an excavator could fit through
- having a part of the yard leveled by the excavator
- digging a trench for the electrical line for the filter
- putting in edging about a foot around the pool's perimeter and filling in with rocks (which must be brought in from the driveway by the wheelbarrow-load)
- installing a new Solar-Powered Clothes Dryer (aka clothesline) for me, since my old one was removed to make way for the pool
- dealing with the big pile of dirt left by the excavator when the yard was leveled
- planting new grass seed to repair the front lawn that the excavator tore up on its way to the backyard
- watering that new grass a few times a day since temperatures around here are topping 100°.
Who knew there was this much landscaping involved in the installation of a pool? I think he's looking forward to the day when he doesn't have to worry about the yard, but can instead just skim out a few leaves and then jump in for a swim.

One Response to “Poolscape”
If you could afford that pool, you wouldn;t have worried about the other stuff, someone else could have done all of the "poolscaping"
