There are very few times when I've found that it was a good idea to wait until the last minute for something.  Most of the time, it's best to just get it done now than to put it off for later.

That's certainly true when it comes to food.  If you've got a perishable food item, don't wait to savor it.  Enjoy it now.  Milk spoils and so does fruit.  How many times have you opened the vegetable drawer of your refrigerator and found $6 worth of slimy baby greens?  Yeah--me too.  I'd always wish that I'd washed them and eaten them when I first bought them.  I've tossed out more wrinkly blueberries and fuzzy strawberries than I care to think about, all because I didn't bother to freeze the blueberries or wash and slice the strawberries.

Then there's the whole "get the work done" thing.  Those wet pool towels are going to get moldy if I don't launder them, and there's only so much space to put clean laundry before it takes over the basement.  We're dangerously close to that threshold now, actually--time for the kids to put away their stuff.  And the young college-student cousin who constantly includes procrastination updates in her facebook status?  If she'd just get busy and write that paper instead of writing about how she's not writing that paper, she'd be done by now.  Same with Miss Freshman here, who's giving me all sorts of grief about reading a 206-page book for her summer reading assignment.  Four weeks into summer and she's read ten whole pages.  (Can you see me rolling my eyes here?)

It's also true when it comes to bargains.  That Amazon Student "free prime for a year" offer isn't going to be on the table forever.
