Recently I had an appointment with a new doctor.
Overall, I was pretty impressed. His staff was courteous and helpful. The nurses were cheerful and put my mind at ease--there's always that initial nervous feeling when you meet a new doctor. And when the doctor burst into the room, he showed a high-energy personality, bantering with the nurses and explaining to me what my treatment would entail.
I thought that his explanation was clear, and he was patient with my questions. Then he reached out to shake my hand, and I noticed for the first time that he was wearing more than a watch on his wrist.
My doctor was wearing a couple of Silly Bandz.
Later, my kids berated me for not asking the doctor what kind of Silly Bandz he had. What sort of Silly Bandz shapes would a doctor use? Scalpel? Blood-pressure cuff? Human skeleton? And what, exactly, does a person's choice of Silly Bandz say about his personality and ability to do his job?
I think I'm better off not knowing.

That's hilarious that your doctor was wearing Silly Bandz! I guess they're not just for kids after all.
