One day last week, my daughter and I headed over to Bed Bath and Beyond. She wanted to get a birthday present for her friend. I wanted to put a dent in Mr. College Bound's dorm-room shopping. 
He's amazingly un-particular about what he gets for his room. As long as we stick to basic colors like dark blue, gray, tan or black, and don't choose anything remotely "girly," he's OK with what we choose. He was more than OK with delegating the "bed and bath store" shopping to someone else. Like my dad, he appears to believe that some sort of alarm will go off if a male walks through the doors of that type of store!
I only wish that there were a way to guarantee that the dorm room we're outfitting will stay neat and clean. But I know better than to expect that to happen.
