It's been quite a while since I've listened to country music; a couple of years ago I switched to the classic-rock radio station instead.  But my husband still alternates between the country-music station and the '80s hits station. country-music While I enjoy The Cars, ZZ Top and The Pretenders, I've lost my taste for country music.

I've heard some of the oddest lyrics ever when listening to country radio.  A couple of summers ago there was a hit song with the refrain, "I'd like to check you for ticks."   I've warned my daughter to stay far away from any guy who uses a pickup line like that.

This summer's hit tune is called "Rain is a Good Thing" and it ranks right up there with "Ticks" in the category of Someone Thought This is Charming But It's Really Just Tacky.  Yes, there's a fine line there.  Any song that uses the rhyming words "whiskey" and "frisky" has definitely crossed that line.

The second my husband gets out of the driver's seat of the car, I switch the station back to good old classic rock.
