iResisted the whole iTunes thing for a very long time, mostly on the advice of my 18-year-old son, who generally knows more about electronics in general than everyone else in the house. You know the old rule of electronics--when you don't know how to make it work, ask a teenager. It's a rule because it's true.
As far as iTunes goes, I'm not so sure how right he was. He'd been advising me for years to avoid iTunes at all costs. So I got a different brand of mp3 player that served me well for a few years.
iSwitched to an iPod touch last summer when iLearned that I could listen to Sirius/XM satellite radio through their free iPhone app. Suddenly, a whole world of apps was opened to me, and I've been enjoying everything from games to ebooks to productivity apps.
But with an iPod, one must use iTunes to organize the music. Because of my older son's advice, I was a diehard Windows Media Player user. But iManaged to get used to the idea, and iSwitched without too much trouble. All my music successfully made the iTunes transition, and iSet up my iTunes gift card so iCould shop for apps and music at the iTunes store.
I've spent more so far on apps than on music, which is fine, since there are plenty of songs already in my library. As for the apps, iLike them a lot!
