The invitations have been mailed out, and we're getting a count of how many people we'll be hosting at our multi-milestone party in two more weeks.

Between three kids, this year we're celebrating a Confirmation, a First Communion, and two graduations (grade school and high school).  We decided that the best thing to do would be to combine everything into one large party.

I've got a lot to get ready.  I'm pulling out the coolers and making sure that I have enough knives, forks, and paper plates to feed a big crowd.  And it's a good thing I put off the spring cleaning until now, because this way my teenagers will be home from school to help me get the whole house spic-and-span.  There's nothing like an upcoming party to get you motivated to clean everything from floors to closets.

The jury's still out on how I'm going to decorate for this.  One kid's school colors are red and white; the other's colors are maroon and gray.  That doesn't make for a harmonious mix of shades--and then what do I do for kid #3 and his First Communion?

My only hope may be to find a theme that everyone can agree upon.
