From the looks of the items on the food-bargain list for June, it's easy to tell that summertime is picnic time.  You'll find the best deals this month on cold beverages like soda, water, and iced tea, as well as ice cream and frozen novelty desserts.  I picked up some Starbucks ice-cream pints for 75 cents each after coupons this week--that's my kind of deal!

June is also a great time to visit your local farmer's market.  The one around here opens next week, and everyone's looking forward to the fresh produce they'll find there.  Produce in season during this month includes:   apricots, arugula, cherries, melons, plums, and watermelon.
