My daughter has discovered a reason why sunscreen can be a Good Thing. It helps you save money on foundation. 
Since my husband and I don't bankroll our daughter's makeup habit, she has discovered for herself that quality makeup isn't cheap. (Yes, I'm impressed that she's choosing good quality makeup--but not so impressed that I'm willing to pay for it.)
She also spends a good deal of time out in the sun--walking, riding her bike with friends, or just hanging out in the pool. In two short weeks, field-hockey practice will start, and she'll be out in the sun even more.
So that bottle of expensive foundation she bought in late May has now proved to be too light for her current skin tone. We both figure that whatever makeup she buys this week will only match her skin for another couple of weeks before she has to go yet another shade darker.
I guess she's going to have to start looking for beauty bargains--or get a job to finance her beauty products.
