I'm not much of a TV watcher, but one thing that does get me back in front of the TV is a notice that some new channels have been added to my satellite-TV lineup.
A few weeks ago, I found out that we had a new channel that aired cheesy "classics" like Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. I'll admit it--I loved that show. I watched it every week, and that wasn't just because it was on right before Chuck Norris in Walker, Texas Ranger. I watched that too; it was one of the worst shows ever, and my husband and I would watch it and laugh louder than we did at any sitcom. All those fake fight scenes were better entertainment than pro wrestling.
For me, TV is less about the new shows and more about the nostalgia programs that are more and more available as new channels are added. My daughter will even watch some of these with me, if only to laugh at the fashions people wore in the '80s and '90s.
Maybe, if I'm lucky, I'll find a channel that carries reruns of Xena, Warrior Princess. Talk about fake fight scenes--this show made them into an art form.

Never enjoyed the Texas show with Chuck Norris. What is that man doing these days?
