No one would ever call me trendy. In general, I'm happy if clothes are comfortable, fit properly, and aren't very brightly-colored. 
(Teal is about as adventurous as I get).
It usually takes me quite a while to get used to a trend before I'll consider wearing it. Like capri pants--I was informed about a week after I finally bought a pair that they were so last year. (My daughter is no diplomat when it comes to her opinions about my clothes.)
But last week I was wandering around a clothing store, looking for something to wear for a special family occasion. There was trendy stuff as far as the eye could see, including something that I could actually picture myself wearing--belted tunic blouses!
For some reason those long blouses made me feel a little taller and a little thinner. I'm not sure how it worked, but I won't be arguing about it. I got myself a nice crisp white tunic blouse. It'll go with just about every pair of pants I own. I just hope that this won't go out of style by next week; I have a lot of plans to wear that blouse.
