We live just across the Delaware River from Philadelphia. On warm spring evenings, we enjoy heading to Burlington City
for an ice cream cone at the Riverwalk.
While we walk along the river, we run into an awful lot of fishermen who are leaning over the railing, fishing for stripers. My husband is fascinated by them. Long after our ice cream comes are gone, he'll chat with the fishermen and find out all about the best way to fish for stripers in the Delaware. Rumor has it that there's a Cub Scout fishing trip planned soon.
Fishing is big here in the river towns. In fact, we passed a store the other day that had a live-bait vending machine outside it. You could buy worms, 24 hours a day. My kids were intrigued by this machine and had tons of questions:
"How do they fill it?"
"How often do they have to refill it?
"How do they keep the worms alive in there?"
"Do you have to bring your own containers?"
I have the feeling that they'll want to stop there and get the bait for that Cub Scout trip.
