I love to cook.  It's fun to try new recipes and techniques, and to rework old recipes so they can become new favorites.  I've managed to successfully cook some complicated stuff, like Shrimp Risotto and Chicken Francese.  The crust on the chicken pot pie to the right?  I made it from scratch.

What I can't seem to do is properly prepare food that comes in a box.  I'm the only person I know who can fail at Minute Rice.  And my most recent attempt to serve some Pasta Roni as a side dish nearly went down in flames when I went astray from the directions.

Apparently, the simpler the dish, the more likely it is that I will screw it up.
