After the very rainy March we had, it's hard to even think about the possibility of April showers! 
I'm hoping that we've kind of moved things ahead a month and that we're heading right into the beautiful weather of May. Certainly this week has felt more like May or even June, with temperatures in the 80s even before lunchtime!
Tomorrow, though, we'll be right back into April mode--just in time for weekend baseball practice and track meets. While they cancel baseball at the slightest drizzle, it has to be coming down really hard to cancel a track meet. I can hardly wait. You see, it's not like I get to sit in the car during these track meets if the weather isn't ideal. The kids don't mind running in the rain--it's all part of the adventure. But I'm not just there as a parent and fan of the sport. I'm also there to help out. Elementary-school track teams don't hire officials; they bring their own. My job is to sit at a table and record each runner's time in each heat of each event. I don't have to write down just the times from my own team, but all the times for all the runners. That should be really interesting in the rain.
