Back when the Internet Explorer browser's most famous features was its Swiss-cheese security, my husband urged me to switch to the Mozilla Firefox browser. 
There was no turning back. I'm hooked by its easy-to-use tab system and vast selection of apps. Whether you call them apps, add-ons, or extensions, the result is the same: a truly customized browsing experience.
I've mentioned before that I'm a cyber-packrat, and my bookmark file was getting out of control. Many of the sites in there were so old that they no longer existed. But how long would it take for me to go through each individual URL and make sure it still worked?
I figured there had to be an app for that. Sure enough, in only five minutes I had located an add-on for Firefox that checked all my bookmarked sites and deleted the ones that were no longer active.
All that while I did a load of laundry and vacuumed the family room--I didn't even have to pay attention to the process.
Now if only there were an app that would do the laundry...
