Drive around any neighborhood that's been affected by this winter's heavy snows, and you'll notice a few trends.
First of all, there are a lot of tree branches down. Landscapers and tree trimmers are pretty busy, as are any neighbors who happen to own chainsaws. That last storm packed a big punch in terms of weighing down tree branches, which are still littering the sides of the road two weeks post-blizzard.
Then you've got the Stuff The Plows Took Out. I've seen more than one light pole and fence post that are just too close to the edges of people's driveways, so when the plows come through, they destroy it. There's a light post absolutely bent in half--I hope the homeowners have disconnected the electricity to that post, or some unsuspecting child is going to touch it and get zapped.
But the most popular guys around town these days have to be the roofers. They're busy patching leaky spots and repairing porch roofs that have fallen in due to the heavy weight of the snow. Hopefully we've seen the last of it and we can look forward to warmer weather so we can take care of repairing all the storm damage around our homes.
