A blank whiteboard is like a magnet for kids and teens. They're drawn to doodle on it, write messages and draw little cartoons.whiteboard-drawing

But never have my kids had the chance to scribble all over a whiteboard quite as big as the one that my husband brought home last weekend. He uses a whiteboard at work to keep track of different projects, and he wanted to do the same with our own small business. So he went out and bought a 3-by-5-foot whiteboard.

That's a lot of white space.

The board belongs in our basement office, but he hasn't figured out where he wants to hang it. So, for the moment, it's leaning against our family-room wall, along with an eraser and several colored markers. And over the past week, we've seen everything from giant white pandas to sombrero-sporting apples with happy faces and dancing feet.

I figure, though, that the best use of the whiteboard would be to note everyone's chores for the day on it.  It's so big, they can't use the excuse that they "didn't see" their list of chores.  However, I'd have to make sure to hide the eraser!
