Anyone who knows me well knows that I am not the rustic type.  The country life is not for me.log-cabin While I enjoy feeding the birds and watching the rabbits and chipmunks in my yard, larger wildlife like deer and bears isn't the kind of thing I'd want too close to my home.

And then there's the whole thing about being 15 minutes from the nearest gallon of milk.

But I do like the log-cabin style of decor.  It fits particularly well in this house, because when we moved here, the entire place was covered in dark brown paneling, except for the kitchen and baths.  In the past ten years, we've painted the paneling in the living room, dining room and family room.  I love that look; it's very clean and simple.  We've removed the paneling from the kids' bedrooms and painted those walls.  There are only two rooms left with the brown paneling, and one of those is the master bedroom.

I don't mind the paneling in there; in fact, I kind of like it.  The room feels kind of cozy, and I think of it as a log-cabin room.  I used wrought-iron curtain hardware and put a red-plaid comforter on the bed.  Instant country--without the bears.
