Who doesn't like a good movie?

I've been catching up recently on some old favorites.  popcornMost of these movies came out during the early 90s, when we only had one kid and therefore had a chance to actually get out and see movies.

I can't even think of the last movie I saw in a theater that didn't involve a Muppet, Pokémon or Sponge Bob.  (I was dragged to two of those under protest.  Muppets, I'll happily see anytime.)

So I'm sitting around with a tissue box, crying over Steel Magnolias.  I'm cheering for Tess in Working Girl and laughing at Hagador in The Birdcage.  I'm laughing so hard I'm crying at My Cousin Vinny, and singing along with The Blues Brothers.

My younger son is pestering us to take him to see Alvin & The Chipmunks:  The Squeakquel.  I never even saw the first one.  Maybe I'll leave this little field trip to Daddy.  I'm not against all animated movies, though.  Some of the best I've seen in the past couple of years were Robots and Up.  (Talk about a movie that makes you cry--who decided to market that one to kids anyway?)
