The faucet in our kitchen sink has the traditional small sprayer on the side.   But we've had nothing but trouble with that sprayer. kitchen-faucet-sprayer

We've replaced this faucet (and sprayer) once already since the kitchen was redone ten years ago.  Clearly, they don't make 'em like they used to.

I'm sure that my teenagers' enjoyment of practical joking has nothing to do with the rate at which we are burning through sprayers.  They like to take rubber bands and wrap them around the handle of the sprayer.  Then, the next person who turns on the faucet gets sprayed.  At least, that's how the joke works in theory.  In reality, the sprayer is always pointing into the corner of the room where I have a bookcase full of cookbooks.

It's impressive that water from a sprayer can travel 10 feet across a room.

But the real problem with the sprayer is that sometimes it gets stuck and will not turn off.  At that point, we have to spend days washing dishes with the sprayer in hand, until it suddenly decides to turn itself off.

Next time, I'm lobbying for one of those faucets that has a pull-out sprayer.
