I know an awful lot of people who are hooked on facebook.

I enjoy checking in, seeing what my friends and relatives are up to.facebook I have extended family members who have announced engagements and pregnancies via facebook.

Without facebook, I wouldn't be in touch with some friends from grade school, high school, and college.  I'd lost contact with these people after all those graduations, and it was nice to touch base with them again.

I will say, though, that I don't do the games.  I know that if I tried something like Farmville or Happy Aquarium or Cafe World, I'd never get my laptop off my lap.  And I'll stick to playing Bejeweled on my iPod Touch rather than online.  I don't get so addicted to a game that I only play in waiting rooms or while sitting in a parking lot waiting for one of the kids to be done at a sports practice.

Facebook is fun.  I've gotten some good tips, a few excellent recipes, and links to countless interesting websites.  I've found leads to new apps for my iPod.  I've seen pictures of people I haven't seen in over 30 years, and I found out about the delicious wonder of Coconut M&Ms.

Yeah, I'm hooked too.
