Did you resolve to lose weight and get more physically fit in 2010? You're not alone. Most people make that kind of resolution, whether it involves starting a new diet or trying a different exercise plan.
Wouldn't it be great if physical fitness was as easy for adults as it is for kids? I have a seven-year-old who seems to be in constant motion. He burns off every single calorie he eats, and in every photo, he's blurry. Earlier this week he had trouble staying still long enough to have an X-ray done (he's fine--it was just precautionary).
Kids don't need treadmills, spinning classes or elliptical machines. All they need are footballs, basketballs, bicycles and trees to climb. Add pogo sticks and Rollerblades and they're set for years of fun and fitness.
I wish adults had it that good. The one time I tried using my kids' scooter, I went through a pothole in the driveway and landed flat on my face. My hands were scraped up, and my face was red as I looked around, hoping none of the neighbors had seen.
I think I'll stick to an exercise DVD in the future--with the curtains closed, of course!

Walk, walk, walk! Unless, of course, you live in avery hilly area where it sometimes seems more like climbing.
