Tomorrow is my older son's 18th birthday, and his gift will not be here in time. 
I wanted to get him a speaker system for his Zune, preferably one that has an alarm clock built in and that can charge the Zune at the same time. He'll be off to college in the fall, so a multipurpose item is always practical.
It's not as easy to find accessories for the Zune as it is for the iPod. When I had a Creative MP3 player, I always complained that accessories were few and far between, and it's no different for Zune users. Though I deplore Apple's near-monopoly when it comes to MP3 players, I've found that my iPod Touch has been a great product, and there's no shortage of speakers, alarm clocks, and other accessories that work with it.
I was looking for this Zune speaker deck before Christmas, but discovered that no one has them in stock. Why? The two manufacturers who make them are working on new ones. The new products will be rolling out soon (so they say) but right now I can't even place an order.
Maybe I should rethink this, and get it for him as a graduation present.
