When I was a teenager, I had to wrap my own Christmas presents. I thought that was bad enough. 
This year, my mother-in-law handed me a check in November. "This is for my Christmas presents to your family," she told me. "I can't drive to the mall to go shopping, so would you do the shopping for me?"
While she had a definite idea on what she wanted to give my husband, she told me just to pick out things that everyone else would like--including me. That's right. I had to choose and purchase my own gift. There will be no surprises this year.
Naturally, I started my shopping here--what else would I do? I was on a budget, and more money saved meant more gifts to open! Everything is being shipped right to her house.
