It was a lot easier when the kids were little. A trip to the toy store, another to the bookstore, and shopping for their holiday gifts was done.
Now I have two teenagers and it's way more difficult to figure out how to shop for them. I had one good idea for my older son, and then I found out that the item is backordered--everywhere--until mid-January.
Sigh. Back to the drawing board for that one. At least it should be back in stock in time for his birthday.
It's not like I was looking for Zhu Zhu pets or anything.
But most teenagers are looking for electronic gifts, and oftentimes those can be just as hard to get as this year's hottest toy. And while you don't have to worry about choosing the proper size, there are considerations of price, compatibility with the teen's existing electronics, and available accessories. But you won't have to worry that there'll be a learning curve--teens can figure out just about any electronic item in a flash!

Electronic gifts are expensive. I'm asking my family what they want for Christmas - some of them are being helpful, others don't know what they want (that is within my budget). All my 12-year-old brother wants for Christmas is a Nintendo DS - which would cost $200. Good luck to him
