When you have kids in the family, it's always fun to get them the same toys you enjoyed playing with during
your own childhood. After all, if you're going to spend time entertaining your children, you might as well have fun too.
New toys come and go all the time, but some favorite toys stick around forever. We've had a big tub of wooden blocks in our house for about 17 years. Those things have never been put on a shelf or in a closet--they're in frequent use.
Other favorites are also building toys: Legos, Lincoln Logs, Tinker Toys and even train tracks. I classify these as building toys since it's way more fun to lay out the track than it is to drive those trains around. (Guess what I'll be doing when my second-grader gets home from school today?)

One Response to “He's Bringing Lots of Toys and Goodies on His Sleigh”
The 'old favourite' toys are great, although me and my brothers were never hugely into trains (I am 22). We played lego quite a bit. Now my younger brothers are into bionacles and all sorts of new things that I don't understand - but they look like a lot of fun - they are just 'adaptions' of the old building block toys, really.
