I am a big fan of the wireless mouse.
Sometimes it's true that you can't teach an old dog new tricks. I've had laptops for about 7 years now, but I've just never gotten used to those touchpad controls.
It's easier for me to type and use a mouse than it is to type and navigate through that touchpad.
Plus, you can get a wireless mouse in just about any color imaginable. (Mine's a nice "milk chocolate" brown, but I do like this cute blue one!) They even make wireless mouse/pen combos, but I think that might be just as cumbersome for me as the touchpad.
I've run into a few technical difficulties when I venture away from my desk with the laptop, though. The wireless mouse works fine on the couch (or even my pants legs) but I tend to bump the receiver end, as it's plugged into a USB port right next to my right hand. Now that I think about it, though, I used to use the mouse with my left hand. When I worked as a software tester, I needed my right hand to be free to hold a pen so I could fill out "bug sheets" advising the programmers on errors in the software. Since I tend to be lazy efficient when I work, things went a lot more quickly when I kept the pen in my right hand and the mouse in my left.
I may need to try that again and see if it makes things go a little more smoothly.
COUPON TIME
A wireless mouse is a really useful item--and the colors are great! How about neon yellow, plum purple, or even a mouse with designs on it? Wouldn't that be a cool stocking-stuffer?
