Besides the badly-chosen window treatments in my family room (I still hate them, by the way, and am still secretly hoping that one of the kids will yank that rope just hard enough to break something, but not so hard that bodily injury is caused), there's another instance of decorating stupidity that I'll admit to.  kitchen-floor

I have white floors in my kitchen and foyer.  What was I thinking?

Every little tracked-in blade of grass or clump of mud is right there for all the world to see.  In the kitchen, the only spill that doesn't show up is milk.  I could mop those floors three times a day, and they still wouldn't look clean.  Actually, I have resorted to getting down on my hands and knees with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser before mopping.  That buys me a few days of better-looking floors, but they go right back to messy and scuffed-up in no time at all.

This is not my kitchen, but there's no doubt in my mind that if I'm ever looking to replace my kitchen floor again, I'd choose something like this.  The colors are warm, and it would definitely hide the dirt.
