I love this time of year. Mornings are chilly enough that you need a sweater or light jacket, but things warm up nicely by lunchtime and a light breeze keeps it from getting too hot. I can leave the windows open in the house and let in the fresh air. 
We live a block and a half from a busy state highway, but we rarely hear a lot of street noise. Sitting in our living room with the windows open, or in our backyard, you'd never realize how close we live to that major road. Normally, the loudest sound you hear is the rumble of school-bus engines; we see at least five buses twice a day. And other than the happy sound of neighborhood children playing backyard wiffle-ball games, riding bikes or jumping rope, things are pretty quiet here.
Until the landscapers show up with their leaf-blowers.
We have a 17-year-old boy in the house, so we don't need a landscaper. We get by on a lawnmower and a weed-whacker. We do not have a leaf-blower. That's a good thing, because the noise from leaf-blowers makes me crazy. I've been known to leave the house when I see the landscaping trucks pull up next door, just so I don't have to listen to that noise--and I'm not convinced that it wouldn't be quicker to just use a broom to sweep up stray grass clippings along sixty feet of sidewalk. It would certainly be quieter!
