There's nothing like comfort food. And I'm convinced that the very best comfort food can be found at your grandmother's house. 
I used to enjoy tuna-fish sandwiches on buttered Wonder bread at my grandmother's house. But I think it's just a matter of what you're used to. When my kids and their cousins go to my parents' house, there are a few foods they consider absolutely necessary.
It wouldn't be lunch at Nannie's without Circle Soup. There are no top-secret recipes here. My mom serves Lipton Ring-O-Noodle soup. If they ever stop making this soup mix, the grandchildren wouldn't hesitate to picket Lipton's corporate headquarters forty miles away. Mom goes out and stocks up on all kinds of sandwich meat, some delicious rolls and plenty of fruit--and the grandchildren want Circle Soup, despite the fact that this is clearly marketed to children and five of the grandchildren are teenagers now.
If the kids stick around until dinnertime, they'll start looking for Julie Bread. There's no secret recipe for this either: just plain Italian bread from the supermarket. There are differences in opinion about what exactly makes it Julie Bread. It might be that, one time when Julie was visiting, Mom let her slice the bread. Others claim that this is because Julie likes to butter both sides of her slice of bread.
