I'm lost without my watch. 
I seem to go through watches quite frequently. I guess that's because I wear mine just about all the time. It gets bumped around a lot. But I can't leave it off--I always have to know what time it is. That's even more essential on the weekends, when I sometimes drive my husband's car. The digital clock in that car is messed up; it always runs fast, offering wildly inaccurate readings of the time. How a digital clock can be "off" is a complete mystery to me, not to mention frustrating. I'm glad I'm not the one driving that car every day.
These days I'm looking for a new watch, after attempting two or three repairs of the leather band on my latest discount-store bargain. Those repairs involved using hot glue and weren't too successful, especially since I invariably burn myself when using hot glue. I'd try Crazy Glue but I fear even worse results. It's really time for a new one. I don't need a lot of bells and whistles, and I don't like digital watches. For that matter, I don't even like calendar watches, because they can't handle months with under 31 days. After a short month, you have to reset the watch and spin the dial ahead 24 hours until the date catches up with itself. On March 1, you have to spin that dial 72 hours ahead. No thanks! All I need is an easy-to-read dial with a second hand and maybe a convenient "light-up" feature.
