I admit it--I jumped on the bandwagon and got an iPod touch. 
I was perfectly happy with the mp3 player I already owned. Then, as I was running errands one day and listening to the satellite radio in my car, I discovered that there was an app for that. I could listen to my favorite satellite-radio stations anywhere I could get an internet connection. That sold me.
I've been having fun exploring the different apps that are out there. Weather (including one just for hurricanes), games, web clippers, recipe databases and conversion utilities (which I use for "translating" recipes from metric to American) are only a few of the seemingly endless options. It's easy to get overwhelmed--but in a good way.
