My neighbor's daughter just turned 5. 
She likes to help me make spaghetti and meatballs. I call her the Spice Girl. I hand her a spice container and tell her to give it a good shake over the pot full of sauce and another good shake over the bowl of ground meat for the meatballs. (We do all this before I turn the stove on, so I don't have to worry about her near any hot pans).
No matter how much basil, oregano and crushed red pepper the Spice Girl puts in my sauce (and I have her be very careful with that red pepper) it's never hot enough for the other Spice Girl--my teenage daughter. She just loves spicy foods. When we go to Taco Bell, she asks for the "Fire" sauce and then eats it right out of the package. If I make chili, she adds Tabasco to her bowl. She loves Buffalo wings and hasn't found any yet that are too hot. When we get hoagies, she begs everyone to order hot peppers on the side so she can have all of our portions. And at restaurants that bring a salad bowl to the table, she and her dad dare each other to eat the hot peppers.
