Hint, hint: Valentine's Day is coming up!
My first-grader has been busily preparing for Valentine's Day for a full week already. One day last week he came home with a huge piece of pink paper in his schoolbag. As he opened it up to show off his creation, red glitter showered all over my feet and the family-room carpet.
"I'll go put this on your desk, Mom," he said as he raced up the stairs. 
"NO! DON'T!" I shouted after him. All that glitter can't be good for my laptop. It just can't.
Yesterday in computer class, all the kids made Valentines for their families. I was there, because I volunteer at the school, so the librarian/computer teacher found something else to keep me busy while my son made his Valentine. But I did help with the kindergarten's project, and it was a lot of fun. The children were so excited to use computers to make cards for their families.
And after school, the Snoopy Valentine cards were taken out of the box so my son could address them to everyone in his class. I'll add the Tootsie Pops later. But there will be no glitter added!
