Just for fun, I thought I'd share a few thoughts on movies.
I don't often get to see a movie in the theater, and I don't feel like I'm missing much. In fact, I cannot remember the last time I saw a movie in the theater that didn't involve Sponge Bob or a Muppet or (horrors!) Pokémon.
Famous movies I have not seen: all of the Star Wars movies, though I've overheard all of them as I hide in another room. Jabba the Hutt really grosses me out.
But the guys in my family are big Star Wars fans. The first-grader owns light sabres in every color (and this Christmas he got the new one that makes noises and lights up!) He likes to pack as many light sabres as his waistband can tolerate, but two seem to be the limit before there's a Wardrobe Malfunction.
I also have never seen The Godfather, Rambo, The Lord of the Rings, or Monty Python's The Meaning of Life.
Movies I'm Embarrassed to Admit I've Seen: Pokémon, the first Harry Potter movie, the Sponge Bob movie. I will not go so far as to say I liked any of these. I merely tolerated them, because my children were too young to sit unaccompanied in a theater at the time.
Movie Songs I Don't Mind Hearing Again and Again: "I Like to Move It, Move It" from Madagascar; "Rescue Me" from Sister Act.
Movies I've Watched Too Many Times to Count: Bill Cosby, Himself; The Blues Brothers; The Birdcage; National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation; My Cousin Vinny, both Legally Blonde movies, and The Sound of Music.

One Response to “True (Movie) Confessions”
You are missing out on some incredible movies. Star Wars is cheesy, but it changed the world of movies and is so fun. The Lord of the Rings trilogy is simply the best movies ever made in every way, acting, story, cinematography, music, it is all good.
