In case you don't own a calendar, we're now less than one month away from the dreaded Tax Day. Booga Booga! Yeah, scary I know. Some people use CPAs, some people file online, and others still do it the old fashioned way by filling out loads of papers. Me? I'm terrible at this type of stuff and have all kinds of crazy deductions, some freelance income, investments, etc. But even if it was super simple, I'd still be terrible at it and hire someone. Thankfully I've already met with my CPA and finished everything off. But for those of you still waiting to fill it out, this post can help.
First off, I received an email from a generous reader named Tom. He gave me a printable coupon good for $30 off Tax Preparation at H&R Block (new clients only)! You're considered a "new client" if you didn't use H&R Block to prepare your taxes last year. I'm not sure if this coupon is a one-time use only one though, so I'm giving it out to the first person who comments on this post, telling me they want it. If it is good for more than 1 person, I'll gladly share it with anyone else who comments that they want it. Thanks so much for sharing this with our readers, Tom!

Ewww, I am the same as you Andrew, I have an accountant do it for me. He finds more deductions than I could which more than makes up for what I pay him. Plus I always grab a handful of free thin mints when I leave his office!!!
*LOL* at Kyle's comment!
I'm a big fan of TurboTax. I've been using it for years, and I highly recommend it. Of course, don't take the cheap way out unless you don't itemize. If you itemize, get the Deluxe edition or better. The Deluxe edition has a Deduction Maximizer. It looks for every possible deduction you can take. It's awesome.
Just click one of Andrew's links above if you want to purchase it. Once you give it a try, you'll be hooked.
@Kyle - Hmm... my guy never has any candy and I actually have to drive like an hour north to get to him. Maybe I should fly out west and use yours. I've never met a thin mint I didn't like...
@Tish - It sounds pretty cool but I'd still be way too nervous I missed something or did something wrong if I tried doing it myself online. Heh. And geez, Tish, keep playing up our coupons and people are going to think you're on the Ultimate Coupons payroll!
Andrew - You mean I'm not on the payroll? I guess I just totally misunderstood the last time you said, "The check's in the mail."
hehe.
Seriously, I love your site, so of course I'm going to help promote it. But I also love TurboTax!
Can someone tell me how to access the $30 coupon discount for HR Block tax preparation for first-time clients? Would appreciate any information.
I wish I had found your website earlier. I ended up spending over $100 on TurboTax software.
