I just reordered a new box of disposable contact lenses from 1800Contacts (they really do make it crazy easy to refill the same prescription I've had for years...), so let me tell you a quick eye story. I've worn contacts since high school because I just couldn't stand wearing glasses anymore. With my wonderful nearsightedness, I'd pretty much walk into walls without 'em, so my glasses are literally like coke bottles. And yes, I do have the "thinned lenses." Yes, my eyesight is that bad. So anyways...

So anyways... it was a week or so before my wife and I were heading to Boston for a vacation. This was pre-kids, so we were really looking forward to a fun, relaxing, carefree time. But one of my eyes started hurting a bit and every morning on the commute to work, I'd find myself squinting a bit with the sun glare. It got better when I took my lenses out, but still hurt. I replaced the lenses, thinking they were ripped, which I think they were. But my eyes still hurt. So the day before we headed out, I finally called my eye doctor... who was on vacation. But I explained the situation and ended up seeing someone actually right around the corner from me. I didn't care who it was, I just wanted to make sure my eyes weren't going to explode in Boston.

Long story short... while examaning me, she noticed a tiny piece of plastic (from one of my disposable lenses) that somehoe was... yep... embedded in my eye! Hooray! It was actually easy to get out, she just needed to gently brush it off with a Q-tip. But... you try sticking a foreign object in someone's eye, that's already super sensitive and enflamed... all while shining the brightest light known to man right in your eye. It might've been all of 3 or 4 mintues, possibly more. But to me it seemed like time stood still and I was under some intense torture with lights blinding me. Once she got it out and the lights were off, the pain lessened tremendously. The suckiest part of all, though, was that I had to wear my glasses for the next week or so. On vacation. Blech!

So now that you're all ready to go buy some contact lenses, here's a pair of coupons for 1800Contacts (And just to be fair, I never clean out my lenses, I wear disposable ones and change them up roughly every 2 weeks or so. I don't blame the lense or the company in this case. Obviously I don't since I continue to reorder the same exact lenses from the same exact company... End of my mini disclaimer...):
