I'm still fairly new at this whole blogging community thing, though I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. Besides just commenting on other bloggers' blogs and joining different blogging communities, one way bloggers sort of spread the love around is to "tag" each other (or "meme" each other if I can verbatize that word). Basically this consists of a short (or long) series of personal questions that a blogger has to answer and then pass the "tag" on to other friends/users to keep it going. Sometimes they're boring, sometimes they're hysterical. All depends on the questions and the person answering them. I've pretty much stayed away from these types of things since they seem a bit too spam-like to me, plus it isn't really why people are coming to my blog in the first place. (I assume they're coming to either get the latest coupons, freebies or deals, or possibly see what hysterically horrible cake I've decorated this week...)
But I was just tagged by Tiny, who's got a great little blog that I love following mainly because she has such a genuine, honest and innocent writing style. Plus she's a fan of Roald Dahl ("Charlie and the Chocolate Factory") so she's got some good taste. So here now is my first official entry into the word of blog tagging... Please let me know if you like it, love it, hate it, don't get it, etc. Should I do more things like this or stick to straight coupons? That's right I'm actually asking YOU to help shape the future of this blog. No pressure, right?
Anyways, on to the quick tag! Which, oddly enough, centers around the #4, who happens to be my older son's favorite number (and his age)!
4 jobs I’ve had:
- Managing Editor for a medical publishing company
- Executive Editor at an magazine publishing company (monthly magazines about toys, action figures, comic books, etc.)
- Product Manager for a semi-big Web portal (iWon.com and Excite.com)
- Paige at my local library
4 films I could watch over and over:
- Say Anything ("I gave her my heart, she gave me a pen.")
- Shawshank Redemption
- Lord of the Rings (Doesn't matter which one, any part of the Trilogy and I'm hooked)
- War Games
4 Places I have lived:
- New York
- New York
- New York
- New York (the town's may've changed but the county's always been the same)
4 Favorite TV shows:
- Lost
- Dr. Who (the new ones)
- The Prisoner
- Futurama
4 Favorite Foods:
- Sushi
- Pizza
- Hot Dogs (Nathan's being the bestest!)
- Steak
4 Websites I visit everyday:
- Hawaii (pick an island)
- San Diego
- San Francisco
- London, England
4 Favorite Colors:
Uh, do I really have to pick 4? Who the heck has 4? I don't even have one. Okay fine...
- Black
- Orange (cause my 4 year old says it's my favorite color for some reason)
- Blue
- Red
4 Names I love but would/could not use for my children:
I don't really get this question and since my 2 kids already have names (Jason and Ryan), I can't list those. So I guess I don't really have an answer. Though if we get a dog, I'd love to name him Gowron. (500 geek points for anyone who gets that reference...)
Okay, that was fairly painless. Now I get to spread the pain, er, painlessness by tagging the following folks with the same questions: Jo, Tish, Wonder Woman, and Danielle.

Nice job, Andrew! I really enjoyed reading your meme. Turns out we have a couple of things in common that I wasn't aware of! I love hot dogs and Lost!
Thanks for the tag!
And thanks for your very sweet comment on my blog. You rock.
Oh, and one more thing. If this were strictly a coupon site, I wouldn't visit as regularly as I do. I love the way you incorporate some of your own life into your posts. And I love how you tie it all to a coupon!
I think you should definitely participate in memes!
If in Hawaii, I think you might want to skip Oahu and go straight for the less-populated and far more beautiful islands. Just an opinion ;o)
First off... is Gowron...(Robert O'Reilly)the fantastic character of the Star Trek cosmos?
Secondly you did amazing. Thank-you for thoughtfully playing tag and “spreading the love”.
I am going to have to put Say Anything...on my Netflix list.
I have the same opinion as Tish... your page is a great deal more than a coupon site. Your writing is what makes it enjoyable to visit. This was a fun way of getting to know a little about you.
Thank you for the nice comments about my blog. You are awesome!
You are now on my chit list you know that right? lol. This looks like fun and I will try to get it done before the weekend.
Tish: If you're ever in NY during the insane 13 weeks that LOST is on, come over and I'll cook us up some dogs! Thanks for the comments and advice. Definitely helps keep me focused on what's working or not working in terms of blogging.
Madame M: Thanks for the tip! We actually hit Maui and Kauai on our honeymoon and loved them both. I'd love to go back and see a lot more of the other islands, particularly the black sand beaches.
Tiny: You are now my #1 person for daily surprises. Not content to just name the character or show he's from, you go and spell out the actor. Man, you're a bigger geek then me it seems! At least in terms of Star Trek. Heh. Nice going. And if you haven't seen Say Anything, well, what the heck's wrong with you. Best John Cusack film ever. And thank you very much for your very kind words and motivation. You are quite awesome yourself.
Jo: You stink. Kidding. I'm kidding! I didn't want this blog turning all super mushy and lovey dovey, y'know? And I can't believe you. You mean I wasn't on your list before this?
Thanking Jo for Mad-Click-Mondays which brought me here (albeit a day late) because you've got a great blog here!
Suzanne: Thanks so much! Yeah, I've found some great sites thanks to Jo's mad Monday too. I'll have to take a look at yours!
