No, I'm not serenading you all (any Barenaked Ladies fans out there?), just FINALLY getting around to responding to Danielle's presentation of 1 million dollars. It's the age-old "what would you do with a million dollars" question, but tossed into a link-spreading, meme of sorts. I wasn't going to join in, but Danielle's too sweet to turn down, plus she mentioned she'd use the money to "learn how to use a crossbow." I find that extremely cool and also a bit frightening. So in the effort to stay on her good side, here's what I'd do with $1 million... and per her request, I WILL somehow tie in a coupon...
So, if I somehow found myself with a million dollars (assuming it's 100% tax free), here's how I'd spend it:
Sorry to be a bore, but I'd put half of it immediately into some sort of investments (funds, stocks, etc), purely to save for my sons' college. I'd use some of it to buy a bigger, better, nicer house somewhere. And in that house I would make sure I had my own personal game room. It'd include full-size Pac-Man and Donkey Kong arcade machines, a few large HDTVs each connected to either an Xbox 360, a Nintendo Wii and a PS3. I'd also get a ton of sushi pillows and bean bag chairs to sit on. And I'd probably splurge on a fun family vacation too, maybe Hawaii. The kids would love the beaches and crazy pools at the resorts. Yeah, that sounds pretty sweet.
And as promised, to help save a little money on those expenditures, I'd use the following coupons:
For the arcade machines, I'd buy them at Brookstone with one of the following promo codes:
$50 off online orders over $500 at Brookstone.com
Use promotion code AF2AUG. Valid through: September 15, 2007
$10 off online orders over $100 at Brookstone.com

Hope Danielle approves of what I'd do with my money and coupons. Here's the full list so far of other bloggers and how they'd spend the bucks. Some pretty creative stuff, mixed with the charitable types...
1. SYH will spend for Family
2. Miche will give to the needy
3. Montessorimum will keepsake
4. Lovely Mummy will spend & save
5. MummyInVain will fully utilise
6. Babyfiona will buy house and open business
7. MonkeyWong will go for a long vacation
8. Emila Yusof will realise her dream
9. Mariuca will open a Perfume Gallery
10.Janice Ng will upgrade house and go for long vacation
11.Hin will blog to donate for charity
12.Bobo will invest in property and let her parents go on a holiday.
13. Brad will spend all of his money on foolish gadgets
14. Danielle will buy a cottage in the woods and never look back
15. Andrew will build the ultimate game room and have fun in the Hawaiian sun
Now I'll pass the torch on (cause that's how these things work apparently). So I'm giving a million bucks apiece to the following bloggers:
Jo (I know I've already hit her up with another meme and she's way behind... but she could do with a million bucks, so I'll just prepare for her rant against me...)
Lara (cause she's too damn talented for someone so young)
Lis (cause her artistic style deserves some recognition!)
Deborah (because she really has some awesome frugal-themed tips!)
Don't know if any of you 4 are up for this or not but if you are, just copy the list above and add your name and what you'd do with the dough... then pass this sucker on.

First of all, the Barenaked Ladies are my FAVORITE band! I have all their CDs, and I finally got to see them in concert this past November in Atlanta!
I got tagged by Mike on this meme recently. Thanks for reminding me that I need to do it! hehe. I love memes, but I get tagged on so many of them that there are always a few hanging over my head.
I'll resist the temptation to put "all them crazy elephant bones" on my wish list!
Now you are a clever one because while we will all be out spending our million dollars you would be saving money with your bank of coupons. Glad you decided to participate. I love those sushi pillows. So fun!!! I have never seen those before.
Tsk. Ok I did the tag! Added it to the existing post at Tag Memes and Viral Links.
Tish: I think I've only got one of their CDs somewhere. They're definitely a "fun" band with some pretty witty lyrics. They remind me a lot of They Might Be Giants, only way more accessible (i.e. not so zany).
Danielle: Yep, that's me. Clever. And how unbelievably cool are those sushi pillows? Seriously, if I get enough money and/or a kick-ass office one day I am so buying each and every one of them. Though I will be sooo tempted to eat them. Which probably wouldn't be a good thing.
Lis: Yay! Thanks for jumping on the tag bandwagon! And thanks for commenting, 'cause now I have your awesome green-outfit picture on my site! Y'know, I should get you to do a portrait of me to put up. Do you do commission work?
Alert the presses! The strike has come to an end!
My post is dedicated to you, Andrew.
What? A stick man portrait? Anyone can draw a stick man!
Tish: Score another victory for the union!
Lis: You obviously haven't ever seen me draw anything.
You can draw one in MS Paint! Or maybe even in this box... let's see if this works...

Ha! Guess it didn't!
Oddly enough, that looks EXACTLY like me! Heh. And yes I could try drawing one in MS Paint, but I could never capture your style, Lis.
