I wear contact lenses. Been wearing them since high school in fact. Man did they used to be suuuch a pain. I'd have one pair that would last a good 6 months, but I had to clean them every single night, and do some crazy enzyme-cleaning thing (was like dropping alka seltzer in water) every week. I remember putting them in a heating cleanser that plugged into the wall for a good 4 hours. Some college nights when I went to bed wayyy too late and had to be up way too early were the worst. I'd literally be putting the lenses in just as the heat cleanser finished... ever put really warm lenses in your eyes? When you're on only a few hours sleep? Not fun is an understatement.

Thankfully, these days I wear disposable lenses. I can keep them in for a week straight no problem, or take them out every night (and in theory clean them, but I never do) and they last about 2 weeks. If I lose or rip one, no big deal. They only cost roughly $5 a lense, as opposed to the $100 or so they used to cost back in the day. Ordering them online is great for a few reasons too: There's always some sort of discount offer, low prices and generally a free shipping deal too. VisionDirect's a great site that has a sweet deal right now worth... ahem... looking at:
