coupon clippingSince I mentioned Wal-Mart in a previous post today, I think it's only fair that I give one of its competitors a little love. In this case, that'd be Target. Personally, I like shopping Target over Wal-Mart, but that may only be because we have like 5 Target stores within 20 minutes of our house and only 2 Wal-Marts (one is really small and dirty, while the other's huge and pretty cool).

Anyways, Target's been really good at having printable coupons for lots of grocery-related products in their store, as well as occasional toys, games, etc. Generally we get Target coupons with the Sunday newspapers and sometimes via a coupon booklet in the mail.

Yesterday my wife got a really cool "coupon card" from Target. It featured about a dozen or so coupons on one side (just small pictures with the details of the coupon offer) and an actual shopping card (just like the discount cards you swipe at your grocery store) attached. The deal is, you don't need to clip and carry various coupons. Just bring the 1 card with you and it'll be swiped at the register, keeping record of which items you purchased off the coupon list. So if you only used 1 of the 12 coupons attached to that card, you can use the same card for any one (or all) of the other 11 items next time you hit Target. Basically it just ties all 12 coupons to one swipe card, with a one-use per item restriction. Pretty spiffy!

"But I didn't get a card like that" I hear you savvy shoppers exclaiming. Well then I suggest you visit Target's Printable Coupons page and print yourself out coupons for whatever grocery needs float your boat. You'll find everything from money off Oscar Meyer lunch meats to Pringles (mmmm) to dog food (uh, not so much mmmm). And the discounts are really good too, sometimes as high as $1 or $1.50 off. So put your scissors away and get clicking, instead of clipping.
